When performing an upgrade of Windows, it's always advised to create back-ups of personal data first in case something goes wrong.

If you haven't received the notification for the Windows 10 upgrade yet, you can force the upgrade by applying a few steps.

[Solution 1] Update Windows & start the upgrade

By updating your current Windows version before attempting to upgrade, you greatly decrease the chance of technical difficulties after the upgrade.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Open System and Security and click Windows Updates.
  3. Install any remaining updates that are available.
  4. Download the Media Creation Tool from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.
  5. Open the Media Creation Tool and select Upgrade this pc now.
  6. Let the process run and Windows 10 will be installed.
