A few quick steps to changing the taskbar settings for showing or hiding labels.
[Solution 1] Windows 10 Taskbar
- Right click on the Taskbar and select Settings.
- Change the Combine taskbar buttons option to When taskbar is full or Never
- Change the Taskbar location on screen option if you wish to move the taskbar somewhere else.
- The new settings will be applied instantly.
[Solution 2] Windows 7 & 8 Taskbar
- Right click on the Taskbar and select Properties.
- Alternatively, open the Control Panel, click Personalisation and select Taskbar and Start menu.
- Under Taskbar appearance, change the Taskbar buttons option to When taskbar is full or Never
- Change the Taskbar location on screen option if you wish to move the taskbar somewhere else.
- Click OK to save the new settings.
[Solution 3] Reset the Taskbar settings
- Open Run and execute Regedit.
- Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Control Panel \Desktop \WindowMetrics.
- Search for the MinWidth key and delete it.
- Restart the computer to load the default taskbar settings.
