Windows Could Not Start The Printer Spooler Error 0x800706b9

When attempting to install a printer driver or print a document, error 0x800706b9 occurs. This is caused by a corrupt registry setting.

[Solution 1] Reset The Print Spooler


  1. Open the Command Prompt (Admin) or PowerShell (Admin).
  2. Execute netsh winsock reset
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Open Run and execute Services.msc
  5. Find the Print Spooler service, right-click it and select Properties.
  6. Change the Startup type to Automatic and click Start.
  7. Click OK to save the new setting.
  8. Try to install the driver or print the document again.
